That Extra Juice Box

Casey J came bounding out of the house with two juice boxes in his hands. I asked him who the extra juice box was for and he told me “It’s for Robert”. Who’s Robert? “He’s my helper”. And off he ran into the “man fort” with two juice boxes. We stared at each other wondering who Robert was and if he really just wanted to drink both of the juice boxes himself. We asked him to show us where Robert was and he pointed at his brother who was already 1/3 of his way into that extra juice box. It was then explained to us that they were playing Batman and Z Man was “Robert” who is Batman’s helper. Oh you mean “Robin” like Batman and Robin. “Yeah mom, Robert.” We rented Lego Batman for the Wii last night and they tend to keep playing the games outside in their own version, so Casey J was Batman and Z Man was “Robert”.

A gourmet dinner

I had a date tonight. A date with a seriously gourmet dinner and the wonderful company of one very handsome guy. Yes it’s true, for our night out Casey J decided he wanted to go home and have me cook “macaroni and cheese, corn or peas, and dino nuggets (dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets)” and then play the Wii. So I sat down and had a wonderful meal with the little man (I had a glass of pinot noir and he had orange juice) and we were entertained by Spongebob during the meal. Maybe not your typical idea of a night out but with my little guy, it was perfect. We also spent some time finding some worship songs he likes on iTunes and he is now happily watching the Classic Christmas DVD that is a collection of the older claymation movies songs, including Burl Ives. Yeah, the first Christmas movie of the season! It’s hard to believe there are only 34 days until Christmas. I’m pretty sure I’ll do 90% of my shopping online, it’s so easy.

Z Man had been asking to “go out” with his dad, so they went out and had dinner at the cafe in town and then went and saw “Bolt” in 3D. That’s how Casey J and I got our night “in” because he showed no interest in going “out”. Such a homebody. They are getting to stay up pretty late tonight. I’ll probably fall asleep before they do!!

You would think I would be better at posting more often. Maybe every day even since I spend my entire life in front of a computer (only a slight exaggeration). Truth is by the time I get home I don’t really want to have to work on my computer, I usually end up working though - wrapping up something from earlier in the day. I could post blogs during the day but I should really be working - if the boss catches me blogging or flickring (I made that up) he’s likely to string me up. I’m not really kidding. Well, maybe. I think we probably all wish we had more time to do the things we enjoy and not the things we have to. Truth is I have about half a dozen posts that I’ve started but haven’t finished yet. Like the one about my over-protective boyfriend, it’s a good one but I haven’t finished it yet (oh, did I just leave you hanging?). I find I need about 36 hours of daylight to complete my work, I never seem to have quite enough time. I’ve got about a month worth of stories I’ll be spilling out soon. It’s not like there is a mob of devoted readers out there but still it’s fun to tell the story. I’ll leave you with a new favorite picture of mine - you can read more about it here.
