Parents who order their young kids soda (Dr. Pepper etc) ought to be shot. Okay well at least they better have a good dental plan. 11 hrs ago

Red Dirt on My Shoes

Posted by kimon 30. 04. 2009in Mom's Journal

It’s been a long time – going back to high school long time since I’ve put on a glove and swung a bat. Last night I got a chance to play some softball with a bunch of folks I didn’t really know but it was still a lot of fun.  I got invited to play by a mom whose boy is a classmate of the boys, she works out at the gym the same time that I do and we’ve been playing racquetball together also. They asked me to come back and play the rest of the season with them becuase they are always short on girls (it’s a coed team). I’m proud to say I do still know how to swing a bat (scored a base hit) and field a grounder. I may even go buy a pair of cleats (well it’s not like my feet are going to grow anymore or anything). I think I’ve finally met some ladies closer to my age who are fairly active, they are talking about doing a flag football team which sounds very fun!

On another note it seems the rest of the boys soccer season has been cancelled because of the piggy germ scare. I think some of it is a bit overboard but I’ve been making sure the boys actually use soap when they wash their hands. On the subject of soccer I have a memory card full of soccer pictures I’ve yet to sort through, still going through the last half of the spring break photos. Next installment tomorrow!
